Information About the Year 5 Residential Trip

Our JCA trip to Condover Hall is Wednesday 15th May to Friday 17th May 2024.  Updates and information will be posted here so do check back!  There is a dedicated button below that allows you access to a SharePoint of files and letters.  There is now a kit list in the folder – please note your child will need a sleeping bag.  There is also information about children needing medication.  We also ask for permission to give Calpol should it become necessary – see LINK.

  • Staff attending JCA this year:  Mr George, Mrs Roberts, Miss Middleton, Mr Mellows, Mrs Harrison, Lewis (PE staff)
  • The activity schedule is not yet confirmed but we’ll post that when it is available.
  • The activity groups and dorm allocations will be shared on the day we leave.  This is generally the best way to do it.  Please be aware that these groupings will never be completely ideal but be assured we’ll do out utmost to balance everyone’s needs and make this work for everyone.
  • Children are not permitted to take phones, and anyone needing to travel to school with one on can leave it in the office until Friday.
  • We will have opportunity to visit the on-site gift shopThere are a variety of small souvenirs for under £5 and children will need to look after their money themselves£5 is plenty – but please send no more than £10.
  • On the Wednesday, we leave school just after lunch.  We’ve had some ‘eventful’ coach trips in the past and you may like to consider providing only a light packed lunch as this may be friendlier on their ‘travelling tummies!’  We will have a good hot meal in the evening.  Note, we don’t allow sweets to come out on the coach journey for similar reasons!
  • On the day please bring all bags, cases and kit – CLEARLY NAMED – to the hall, through the side door, at the start of school.  Any willing adult helpers would be welcome to help load bags and cases onto the buses at 12:45. If you’re wanting to ‘wave off’ the coach, this will be at 1:15pm. Obviously, we’re not expecting anyone in uniform that day.
  • We should be back by 3:15 on the Friday and will contact school if there is any significant delay.
  • Please do ask if you have any questions or concerns – Mr George
